The Site's calculators produce estimates based on simplified models, current published tax rates, and stated assumptions. Limitations of our calculations

Specific known limitations include (but are not limited to):

• Federal tax: Standard deduction only; no itemizing, no credits (EITC, child tax credit, education credits, etc.)
• State tax: Highly simplified — no state-specific deductions/credits; many states use top marginal rate applied to gross income
• Local tax: NYC, Yonkers, Ohio cities, Maryland counties, etc. are noted but not added to estimates
• FICA: W-2 employee model only; self-employment tax computed separately
• Mortgage: Principal + interest only; no property tax, insurance, PMI, or HOA
• Investment returns: Constant assumed rate; real markets are volatile and may lose value
• Retirement: Constant return assumption, no sequence-of-returns risk, no inflation adjustment

No warranty

The Site and all content are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that calculations are accurate, complete, or current.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CentCalc, its operators, authors, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or any content, including but not limited to tax over/underpayment, investment losses, loan decisions, or any other financial outcome.

The Site may link to external resources (IRS.gov, SSA.gov, state revenue departments, etc.) for reference. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party sites.

Advertising disclosure

CentCalc is supported by display advertising (currently Google AdSense). Ads are served by third-party ad networks and are not endorsements by CentCalc. We do not control which specific ads appear on which pages. Advertisers may include banks, insurance companies, tax preparation services, and other financial product providers.

Per Google AdSense policy, ads may be targeted based on page content (e.g., mortgage calculators may show mortgage lender ads) but are not targeted based on the specific numbers you enter into calculators — those numbers never leave your browser.

If we add affiliate links in the future, they will be clearly disclosed inline next to the link itself.

Privacy

Calculator inputs and results are processed entirely in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit your salary, debts, income, or any other personal financial data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
